يقوم الصيادلة بإعداد وصفات الأدوية التي لا تحتاج إلى تذكرة طبية وصرفها وتوفيرها. فهم يُقدِّمون معلومات سريرية عن العقاقير، ويقومون بالإبلاغ عن ردود الفعل السلبية المشتبه بها، وتقديم الدعم الشخصي للمرضى. يقوم الصيادلة بتركيب الأدوية واختبارها في المختبرات وتخزينها والاحتفاظ بها وتوزيعها.
