This World Bank study explores how green and digital skills can serve as pathways to employment in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It examines the evolving demand for these skills in the context of technological change and the green transition, analysing how workers and firms adapt to new labor market realities. The report provides evidence on the relationship between skill development, employability, and economic transformation in the region.

ESCO is used to classify and map skills and occupations across countries, enabling a harmonised analysis of labor market data. Using ESCO green and digital labelling, the study identifies key green and digital competencies and assesses how they align with job demand and emerging employment opportunities in the MENA region.
