The Simple Knowledge Organisation Systems (SKOS) format is designed for capturing and representing thesauri, classification schemes, subject heading systems and taxonomies.

SKOS is a W3C recommendation within the Semantic Web vision of the Web of linked data. It aims to facilitate the publication and the use of any type of structured controlled vocabulary as linked data.

The entire ESCO classification is available for download in the SKOS format.
