Nowadays, jobseekers, learners and professionals use online curricula vitae (CVs) or digital professional profiles in order to present their professional experience, including knowledge, skills, competences and qualifications they have.

Many job boards and social media platforms allow users to create such online documents. As part of the Europass platform, the Commission is offering a service for the creation for digital CVs to citizens.

Using ESCO as a reference language in tools for CV creation has several added values:

It helps users to select precise, unambiguous terms;
It increases interoperability of the resulting CVs, so that they can be used in other services, such as job boards or career guidance tools;
It allows users to display the information in the CV in all ESCO languages.
