Each concept within ESCO has a designated, unique preferred name per ESCO language. It is called the preferred term (PT) and can be a single-word term or a multi-word term. The preferred term is used to represent a concept in ESCO in a specific language. Out of a group of terms with similar meaning, the one that best represents the concept is chosen to be the preferred term.
