The European Commission launched on the 1st of July 2016 a targeted on-line consultation to the ESCO Member States Working Group.

A high-level delegation from the Skills Development Division of the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) visited the ESCO team of the European Commission on the 23rd of June. 

ESCO was presented at the 14th Human Resources Assembly #EBUHR2016 of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

On 2 June, ESCO team leader Mr Martin le Vrang presented the ESCO classification on the "Intelligent Machines and the Future of Recruitment" conference in Amsterdam.

The Commission currently prepares the final draft of ESCO in the English reference language.

On 8 February 2016 the ESCO Secretariat travelled to Innsbruck to present ESCO at the kick off  meeting of the OpenEuropean Skill Match Maker (OPESKIMR), a Europe 2020 project funded by the Commission

The "Run, ESCO, Run!" team of ESCO participated in the 2015 Acerta Brussels Ekiden marathon.

On 23-24 October, the European Commission launched the classification of European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO) during the conference "ESCO Goes Live" in Brussels. 350

The now public ESCO v0 is a classification of skills and competences, occupations and qualifications. In total the classification contains more than 200 000 terms.
