Searching for learning opportunities

The search for learning opportunities is one of the use cases ESCO can support. ESCO can be used in tools that allow users to identify knowledgeskills and competences, that increase their employability or career prospects.

Such systems could point their users to relevant learning opportunities. To this end, the learning outcomes of qualifications can be annotated with concepts from the ESCO skills pillar. Algorithms compare these learning outcomes with the training needs of the user. Databases of learning opportunities can be used to point users to training offers related to the identified qualifications. This helps them to identify relevant learning opportunities based on real labour market needs and thus to obtain the additional skills.
